| Hello everyone. If you're in the south, I hope you enjoyed the glorious weather at the weekend. It was actually the busiest weekend of the year in the tasting room, so great to see so many of you Thanks for all the support! On with the news... | ||
| Debut of Live @Lovibonds - this Friday Night! | ||
| We're staying open later than normal this coming Friday night, with the debut of Live @Lovibonds With our newly expanded tasting room we will be hosting live music on the first Friday of every month. | Friday October 7th, music starts at 9:00, bar open at 2:30 ;) | |
| What kind of music are we going to play...Rock and Roll! You should know that by now. | ||
| This
Friday we've got a recently formed local band called
Ambre led by a female vocalist with a solid band
behind her playing rock covers. Headlining we've got an up and coming young rock band Loose Lips. I was just reading their facebook page and they state their influences as "The Stones, The Faces, The Black Crowes, Dylan, Kings of Leon, Drive by Truckers, Gram Parsons..." So I think you know where they are coming from, they rock. Music starts at 9:00, hope to see you there. |

| Lovibonds Beer Dinner at Hotel du Vin | ||
| I'll be
honest, I've been a bit disappointed with the low
number of bookings for our Lovibonds Beer Dinner
coming up Friday October 14th, 7:00. As
always you can shoot me
feedback...
Head Chef Arron Christopher and I have come up with a menu that helps demonstrate why beer is underrated at the dinner table. Check out the menu here I look forward to sharing a beer and talking you through the pairings on the night. Details on how to book here. |

| Hop Harvest and Open Brew Day | ||
| We had an awesome Hop Harvest and Open Brew Day this year. A big Thank You to those who gave up their Saturday to come and get their hands dirty picking hops. This year we had a record 11kg of hops from our little hop yard in the beer garden. |

|
| While the regulars were picking away I was busy brewing this years Fresh Hop IPA, which should be on the bar next weekend! You can check out more pictures of the day here |

| Malt Harvest Update | ||
| I was invited to a Malt Harvest update put on by our major malt supplier, Warminster Maltings. I really love the beer that Warminster Malt makes and they are very much on the craft end of the malting industry as each batch is still shoveled and turned by hand. | ||
| The main theme of the day (which took place at a very impressive Wiltshire cereal farm), Nitrogen/Protein. Because we sort of had our seasons in reverse this year, a majority of the barley (across the whole of Europe) came out of the fields with record Nitrogen levels. Nitrogen in the brewhouse translates to Protein and high level of Protein in the malt makes the brewers job extra difficult. |

| Warminster Maltings | ||
| You may find in the coming months that your local pint may not be as bright as it used to be as high level of proteins can lead to hazy beer, even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with the beer. | ||
| That's all folks, | ||
